FURTHER INFORMATION

All pieces on this website have been chosen for their originality and their fine quality. In some cases, items have required restoration, which is always kept to a minimum, but unfortunately sometimes unavoidable.

There is no doubting that good quality antique furniture represents excellent value for money and the expertise that was required to make the pieces of furniture detailed on this site was something to behold.

Antique furniture was greatly sought after in the 19th century and peoples's furnishings were massively important to them. It is truly amazing that in the year 2008 you can still purchase some very fine pieces for less than a few thousand pounds.

It is surely worth considering that a well-chosen piece of antique furniture will give you use and pleasure for years to come if not generations. That on the whole cannot be said of modern furniture, which due to its hasty production and poor materials is destined for the bonfire or skip. There is also little doubt that purchasing antique furniture is kinder to the environment.

Tim is happy to help in the furnishing of properties on behalf of clients. There is a vast variety of stock available on the open market, which is perfect for furnishing flats and houses, after all, that is what it was made for. The lack of strength in the export market and the depressed auction prices at the lower end of the market in itself has created the opportunity for wonderful value for money purchases. Tim is able to offer advice on buying at auction if required.

Tim can also help in the disposal of antiques and although he may not wish to buy a piece or pieces, he can offer an insight on who to approach and is very happy to offer this advice. Tim is also very keen to purchase unique pieces of antique furniture and generally will pay considerably above market value to secure pieces. Insurance valuations and probabte valuations can also be carried out.
